How to Make Your Kitchen Summer-Ready

Kitchens / June 3, 2015

Another spring season wraps up and finally, summer’s here! A change in season means it’s time to clean and rearrange the kitchen by making it summer-ready. Here are ways to welcome the brightest and sunniest season of the year by making your kitchen summer-ready.

Tidy your cupboards and cabinets.

Did you fail to do a little cleaning this spring? You still have time to tidy your kitchen by simply dusting off your cupboards, cabinets and appliances. Want a tip for easily cleaning and maintaining the beauty of your cabinetry? Start by sweeping off the dust with the use of a dry cloth or feather duster before applying any cleaning product to your wooden cabinets.

Apply bright-colored window treatments.

Without fun, bubbly colors, you won’t feel the summer vibe. One way to make your kitchen bright and fresh is by applying colorful window treatments. Adding a pop of color or patterned window treatments can turn any ordinary kitchen into fab!

Add fresh flowers to your kitchen island or countertop.

Because it’s summer, expect days that are warmer, grass will be greener and days are longer. Add some pretty blooming flowers, especially ones picked in your backyard. Most of the time, all you need are fresh flowers to bring life to the kitchen.

Put out a basket and fill it with fruits.

All fruit is welcomed in the summer and who doesn’t love picking fresh berries and peaches? Also, in hot and humid weather fruits that contain high levels of water such as melons can help quench your thirst and beat the summer heat. A fruit basket can be a good accessory for your kitchen countertop as well as a great centerpiece for your dining table.

What’s not to love about summer? It’s that time of the year where the sun’s brimming with life under the clear blue skies. The only downside we can think of is its humidity. Which makes us think of planning a trip to the beach to cool ourselves and enjoy the waves. Try out these summer-ready design tips to your kitchen to bring home a piece of summer.
